Happy Christmas, new year, etc. Grandaddy, Mew, Sigur Ros, A Camp, Fountains of Wayne, Blink 182, New Pornographers, Freiheit, Loudon Wainwright III, Low, Joy Zipper, KLF.

Not that anyone asked me to, but this one’s been a pain to put together. I still don’t have access to the vast majority of my mp3s, as my PC is in an Evesham warehouse. So I revived my increasingly broken old PC (whose 256MB memory is currently showing as 32MB) and grabbed some tracks from my iPod and old PC’s disks. Can’t upload it at work, due to the Hemel explosion, can’t get my old PC to connect, so I’m writing this on an old laptop which I’ve managed to connect to… I’ve bored myself. The upshot is another Podcast which leans a bit too much on the melancholic side, and whose Christmasness/Christmasocity varies quite wildly. Some of it really is tenuous. “Wombling Merry Christmas” will have to wait for next year’s effort.

The “Best of 2005″ Podcast should appear some time in the last week of this month. That one’s bound to be more upbeat, considering some of the chirpy music that’s been released this year.

I’m now getting bored of not having a head office. It means limited communication between sites, no web/email access and an air of general concern. This is how our remodelled HQ looks, following Sunday’s impressive nearby explosion;

My PC is still broken, so I’ve extracted this draft Podcast from my iPod, to keep things going while I wait for a new motherboard. I’ve got two more Podcasts waiting to go (a more upbeat one, followed by a Christmas podcast), but I can’t get at them. There’ll also be an end-of-year podcast, featuring a track from each of my favourite 20 albums of 2005. For now, please accept this extremely downbeat podcast, featuring an unusually high number of Icelandic artists.
